Sawdust is a powerful odor eliminator and helps mitigate pests and mold. Sawdust is distributed in an upcycled pouch, which can be refilled as often as needed.

Our drop-off program allows you to bring your food scraps as often as you would you like to the location of your choice. Current locations are located in Palms, Mar Vista, and Woodland Hills.

How our diversion program works

Subscribe online here. Your card will be charged the monthly membership fee, plus a one time setup cost of $15.00.

We’ll deliver your startup kit, which includes a 4-gallon sealable bin, welcome card, and sawdust pouch (if chosen). Let us know a good place to leave your bin when signing up.

Fill your bin with approved compostable items throughout the week.

On pickup day, be sure your bin is outside by 9:30am. Pickups will be between 10:00am and 6:00pm.

After pickup, we leave you a clean bin and take your compostables to one of our partner farms for processing.

Go about your day knowing you are a waste warrior. You earned those bragging rights!

*Although bioplastics are compostable, we can’t accept them because LA Compost’s process breaks down food scraps much faster than bioplastics. Bioplastic Recycling does accept bioplastics for composting and remanufacture.

Create a waste-free cycle for your personal care & home cleaning products with this optional add-on service.

Once a month, you leave out your empty bottles and we'll bring you a new round of supplies from Recontained. Those bottles will be washed and reused, ending the reliance on single-use plastic.
